  • Discussion and analysis of major issues relating to information technology at UCLA.
  • The sharing of ideas and information on critical issues and the development of collaborative projects to encourage the pooling and partnership of resources to benefit from economies-of-scale.
  • Provision to UCLA administrators of advice and analysis of critical issues in the area of information technology.
  • The development of shared perspectives and policy positions on key technological issues.
  • The development of recommended standards and the provision of models in the areas of service provision, funding, human resources, and desirable technology for major academic units.
  • The formation of cooperative working groups to focus on specific technological issues.
  • The fostering and facilitation of a strong and efficient system of well-coordinated decentralized computing services highly responsive to local clientele.
  • Working to help refine the role of centralized computing services in such a way that any such services are both economically beneficial and efficiently address local needs.
  • The development of a campuswide "vision" for future directions of progress for the development of information technology.
